Idaho Governor Signs Controversial Bills on Abortion and Gender-Affirming Care

Idaho Governor Brad Little signed a bill into law that makes it illegal for an adult to help a minor get an abortion across state lines without parental consent, the first of its kind in the US. The new law comes less than a year after Idaho banned nearly all abortions. The legislation allows an affirmative defense to prosecution if "a parent or guardian of the pregnant minor consented to trafficking of the minor," unless the abortion provider was located in another state. Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates West vowed to challenge Idaho's new law in court.
