Judge threatens disciplinary action against lawyers for delaying Jan. 6 defendant's case.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C. is threatening to report two attorneys for possible disciplinary action for delaying the trial of a man who has been jailed on charges that he assaulted police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol. The judge questioned whether attorney Joseph McBride was being sincere when he said he needed to push Christopher Quaglin's October trial due to his medical condition, as McBride continued to do media interviews and spoke at a Republican county committee about his fight for the "January 6 political prisoners." McBride has since withdrawn from Quaglin's case, and the judge has ordered him and another attorney to file a response by April 10 as to why they should not be referred to the court's committee on grievances.
