Keith Wilson Elected as Portland's New Mayor After Opponents Concede
TL;DR
Keith Wilson, CEO of Titan Freight, has been declared the winner of Portland's mayoral race, becoming the first mayor under the city's new government structure. Wilson's victory was confirmed after he surpassed the required vote threshold in the ranked-choice voting system, leading opponents Carmen Rubio and Rene Gonzalez to concede. Wilson's campaign focused on addressing homelessness and reducing carbon emissions. He plans to transfer ownership of his company before taking office, as Portland's new governance model prohibits elected officials from holding second jobs.
