Kentucky Governor Vetoes Transgender Restrictions.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, has vetoed a bill that would have prevented transgender youths from accessing gender-affirming healthcare or using school facilities consistent with their gender identity. The bill also sought to prohibit classroom instruction on human sexuality and gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation. The bill had passed through both chambers of Kentucky's Republican-led legislature with veto-proof margins. Governor Beshear said the bill would have allowed too much government interference in personal healthcare issues and would have had damaging effects on the state's transgender youth.
