Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who left the Democratic Party in December, has reportedly referred to her former colleagues as "old dudes eating Jell-O" and mocked them for their "ridiculous" and "dumb" weekly caucus luncheons. She has also pandered to Republican donors and lobbyists, and distanced herself from the Democrats. Her attempt to distance herself from the Democrats has pushed her closer to Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who could permit the Arizona senator to caucus with Republicans in the next Congress.
