The letter called on the chairs to "urge respect for the fairness of our justice system and for the work of the impartial grand jury." The committee chairs have been in a war of words with the Manhattan DA's office since requesting testimony and materials related to its investigation of Trump earlier this month. The DA's office has also detailed how it uses federal funds, stating that no expenses related to the Trump probe have been paid from funds received through federal grant programs.
