Mark Walker enters North Carolina governor race.

Former GOP Rep. Mark Walker announced his bid for the Republican nomination for governor of North Carolina, focusing on education, economic “freedom,” and “protecting” children and families. He called for blocking “federal mandates” for education, increasing infrastructure, and spreading broadband access. He also vowed to fight against gender-affirming care for transgender children. Walker will face at least two other candidates in the primary, including Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, and state Treasurer Dale Folwell.
