McMorrow exits Michigan Senate primary, pitting Stevens against El-Sayed
TL;DR
State Sen. Mallory McMorrow dropped out of the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, narrowing the field to Rep. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed. McMorrow did not offer a reason for suspending her campaign or endorse a candidate, saying she’ll back the winner. The race has been a proxy fight between establishment and progressive wings and is pivotal for Democrats’ Senate control this fall.
