TL;DR

Micah Lasher, a seasoned political strategist and former Nadler aide, has filed to run for Congress in New York, aiming to succeed retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler. He is considered a leading candidate with strong backing from Nadler's circle, competing against younger challenger Liam Elkind in a race that reflects broader debates about political change and experience. Lasher's extensive background in New York politics and his close ties to Nadler position him as a prominent heir apparent for the seat.
