Michigan's Population Growth Efforts and Community Focus.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has established a new bipartisan council, the "Growing Michigan Together Council," to develop a plan to attract new residents to the state and keep those currently in Michigan. The council will be led by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates John Rakolta Jr., a Republican, and member of the Wayne State Board of Governors Shirley Stancato, a Democrat. The council will have six months to develop the outlines of a population growth strategy, including recommendations to improve education and infrastructure in Michigan.
