Missouri Governor's Budget Decisions: I-70 Expansion Approved, State Spending Vetoed, and Noticeable Provisions in FY2024

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has signed a $52 billion state budget that includes funding for the expansion of Interstate 70 but also cuts $555 million in spending. The budget allocates $2.8 billion for the expansion of I-70 to three lanes across the state. Additionally, funding has been provided for pre-K education, childcare subsidies, and a 7% funding increase for public colleges and universities. The budget also includes pay raises for K-12 teachers, workers caring for people with developmental disabilities, and Missouri State Highway Patrol officers.
