"Montana Congressman Mike Johnson Reverses Endorsement Plans Amid GOP Backlash"
TL;DR
House Speaker Mike Johnson has reversed his decision to endorse Rep. Matt Rosendale for the US Senate race in Montana after facing blowback, particularly from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, who are supporting another Republican candidate, Tim Sheehy. There is concern among Republicans that Rosendale's hard-right stance and previous statewide losses could jeopardize their chances of winning the seat in November.
