Newsom's Homelessness Tour: Tiny Homes for California's Homeless

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced plans to build 1,200 small homes in four major cities to combat homelessness, but San Francisco was not included in the plan. Newsom's deputy chief of staff cited funding and procurement constraints and said the governor is open to including San Francisco in the future. San Francisco Mayor London Breed criticized Newsom's move in November when he temporarily withheld homelessness funding from localities across the state. The plan is part of a statewide tour Newsom is doing in lieu of a traditional State of the State address.
