NJ Primary Election 2023: GOP Senator Ed Durr Wins, Hudson County Elects New Executive

Republican state Sen. Ed Durr, who defeated the powerful Democratic Senate president in 2019, has won the GOP primary in New Jersey. On the Democratic side, Sen. Dick Codey, with nearly five decades of legislative experience, won against incumbent Sen. Nia Gill. Both will be their parties' candidates on the ballot in November. New Jersey has no statewide races on the ballot this year, although both chambers of the Democrat-led Legislature are up for grabs in the November election.
