NY's Legal Weed Market Faces Roadblocks and Slow Rollout.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul's administration plans to allow the sale of marijuana and cannabis products at farmers markets, festivals, and concerts this summer to help struggling farmers who are sitting on 300,000 lbs. of marijuana due to the slow rollout of licensed cannabis shops. The Office of Cannabis Management is still finalizing the rules for the program, which could begin as early as July. Customers can buy flowered product, pre-rolled joints, and THC-infused edibles, but smoking weed on the premises is not allowed. However, the decision could face community opposition as cannabis sales are forbidden on government property, including parks.
