Former Vice President Mike Pence launched his 2024 presidential campaign with a direct attack on his former boss, Donald Trump, highlighting their falling out over the 2020 election results and Trump's reluctance to take a hard stance on abortion. Pence touted his record in the "Trump-Pence administration" but also criticized Trump's reckless words that endangered his family and everyone at the Capitol during the Jan. 6 insurrection.
