Pennsylvania GOP Struggles to Find Strong Candidate to Challenge Sen. Casey.

Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey, a three-term moderate Democrat, is a top target for Republicans in the 2024 Senate election. Despite his mild-mannered reputation, Casey has won all of his Senate elections by double digits or close to it, and is seen as an institution in the state. Republicans are trying to lure former business executive David McCormick into the race, but are still not bullish about their chances against Casey. The GOP is concerned that former President Donald Trump, if he runs for president again, could be a drag on down-ballot candidates and force them to answer for his unpredictable comments.
