Protests Erupt as Montana Transgender Lawmaker Silenced Again.

Montana lawmaker Rep. Zooey Zephyr, who is transgender, has been silenced for the third day in a row by Republican leaders in the state legislature. Her supporters interrupted House proceedings by chanting "Let her speak!" after lawmakers voted to continue subjecting Zephyr to a gag order. The dispute started when Zephyr spoke up against a proposal that would restrict when children could change the names and pronouns they use in school, with their required parents' consent. Zephyr's remarks against lawmakers who support a ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth led to her being silenced and deliberately misgendered by some Republican lawmakers.
