Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to announce his running mate within two weeks as part of the process to gain ballot access in 26 states and D.C. He has spoken with various individuals including NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former governor Jesse Ventura, and former senator Scott Brown, among others. Kennedy's campaign manager criticized the requirement for early VP selection, calling it anti-democratic. Kennedy has also created his own party, We the People, in some states to facilitate ballot access and has met with leaders of the Libertarian Party.
