TL;DR

Democrat Ruben Gallego has won the Arizona Senate seat, defeating Republican Kari Lake. This victory concludes the 2024 Senate races, with Republicans holding 53 seats and Democrats 47, including two independents who caucus with Democrats. Gallego, previously a House member, focused his campaign on his personal story and military service. Lake, a former TV anchor and Trump supporter, has now lost two consecutive elections. The seat was vacated by Kyrsten Sinema, who left the Democratic Party to become an independent.
