Sarah Godlewski appointed as Wisconsin's Secretary of State by Gov. Evers.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has appointed former State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski as Secretary of State of Wisconsin, filling the position left vacant by the resignation of Doug La Follette. Godlewski will be the third woman in Wisconsin state history to serve as Secretary of State. La Follette resigned after 40 years of watching the office be stripped of its power. Godlewski's appointment is effective March 18, 2023, and will fill the remainder of La Follette’s four-year term ending in January 2027.
