"Secret Service Criticized for Security Lapses at Trump Rally"
TL;DR
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas labeled the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally as a security "failure" but expressed full confidence in the U.S. Secret Service. The incident, which resulted in one death and two injuries, has prompted an independent review and congressional inquiries into the security lapses. The Secret Service's failure to secure a rooftop used by the gunman has raised questions about their preparedness and strategy.
