GOP Senator Tim Scott is set to make a "major announcement" in Charleston on May 22, with speculation that he will officially announce his presidential campaign. Scott launched an exploratory committee for a 2024 presidential campaign last month, taking aim at President Joe Biden and the "radical left." The first Black senator from South Carolina and the only Black Republican senator, Scott would be the second GOP candidate from the state in the 2024 race, following former Gov. Nikki Haley's announcement in February.
