Senate Republicans push to overturn Biden's student debt forgiveness plan.

A group of Republican senators, led by Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, introduced a proposal to revoke President Joe Biden's executive action to forgive some federal student loan debt. The proposal was brought under the Congressional Review Act, which creates a fast-track process for Congress to overturn rules issued by federal agencies within a certain period of time. Biden's executive action would allow for up to $10,000 in student debt cancellation for federal borrowers making under $125,000 in individual income, and as much as $20,000 for those who receive Pell Grants. The plan is expected to cost $400 billion, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
