Sinema Named in NC Alienation Suit Over Alleged Affair With Married Bodyguard

Fox News reports that Kyrsten Sinema is tied to a North Carolina alienation-of-affection lawsuit filed by Heather Ammel over Sinema’s alleged affair with Ammel’s married ex-husband, a security guard. Sinema’s team moved the case to federal court, arguing lack of NC jurisdiction, and Sinema testified in a July deposition that she had multiple sexual encounters with Matthew Ammel in Napa, New York, Washington, Aspen and Phoenix in 2024; Ammel and Sinema’s relationship spanned several months, with Ammel’s divorce finalized in 2026. An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
