State Auditor Beth Wood Faces Charges in State Vehicle Misuse Case

State Auditor Beth Wood has been charged with using a state-owned vehicle for personal errands, including traveling to hair and dental appointments, shopping centers, and spas. This comes after Wood crashed a state-issued vehicle into a parked car in December 2021. Wood has been charged with private use of a publicly owned vehicle, a misdemeanor. She has reimbursed the state for her commuting miles and is scheduled to appear in court on December 4. Wood, who recently announced she won't seek re-election, has apologized for her actions.
