Tennessee GOP lawmaker resigns over sexual harassment violation.

Tennessee state Rep. Scotty Campbell resigned after violating the Tennessee General Assembly workplace policy on discrimination and harassment. A bipartisan ethics subcommittee reported to Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton that it found Campbell had violated the policy after reviewing the results of an internal investigation. Campbell denied any wrongdoing, but an intern had complained to legislative officials that Campbell had made sexual comments that left her feeling “progressively more afraid and uncomfortable.” Campbell had voted to expel three Democratic colleagues over decorum violations two weeks ago.
