Tennessee Lawmaker Justin Jones Reinstated After Council Vote

The Metropolitan Council of Nashville voted unanimously to reinstate Democratic state Representative Justin Jones, who was expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives for joining peaceful protests against gun violence after a massacre at a Christian school. Jones was reinstated until a special election can be held. Following the vote, Jones and more than a thousand supporters marched to the Tennessee Capitol, chanting, “No Justins, no peace.” Jones immediately called for the resignation of Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton.
