Tennessee State Rep. Justin Jones Sues House Speaker for Racial Discrimination and Unconstitutional Actions

Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones has filed a federal lawsuit against Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton and other House officials, alleging that his constitutional rights have been violated. Jones seeks a court order to prevent the Speaker from blocking him from speaking on the House floor, reinstate his committee appointments, and declare his removal unconstitutional. Jones was expelled from the Tennessee House earlier this year after calling for gun reform during a protest. He and another lawmaker were later re-appointed to their seats.
