Tennessee Takes Action on School Safety and Gun Control

Three members of the Democratic Party in Tennessee may face an expulsion vote after interrupting the House floor during a session. The lawmakers walked up to the well of the House, violating rules of decorum in the chamber, and have been characterized by Republican lawmakers as an "insurrection." The lawmakers claim they were repeatedly silenced by the Speaker throughout the week following a mass shooting at The Covenant School, which killed six people, including three 9-year-old children. The lawmakers hit back at the Speaker's national media appearances, where he characterized the interruption by the Democratic lawmakers as akin to the January 6th insurrection.
