Texas AG Paxton Investigates Allegedly Intoxicated House Speaker Phelan and Calls for Resignation.

The Texas House General Investigating Committee is investigating the Office of the Attorney General over a legal settlement with whistleblowers. Attorney General Ken Paxton requested $3.3 million of state money to pay a settlement to employees who were terminated after raising ethical concerns about Paxton's conduct. The committee issued a letter directing the attorney general to preserve all documentation relating to the matter and issued a subpoena to the Office of the Attorney General and a "John Doe #6." The committee will hold a public hearing and hear evidence on the matter on Wednesday at 8 a.m.
