Texas Capitol rocked by accusations of intoxication and investigations of top officials.

The Texas House General Investigating Committee has been investigating Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton for months over allegations of corruption, which were made public shortly after Paxton accused GOP House Speaker Dade Phelan of being drunk on the job. The investigation is separate from the FBI's ongoing investigation into Paxton's alleged corruption. The committee has issued at least 12 subpoenas for testimony and information, and is looking into the use of $3.3 million in taxpayer dollars to settle a lawsuit brought by Paxton's accusers. Phelan has brushed off Paxton's accusation as a "last ditch effort to save face."
