Texas Judge Joins GOP's Push to Outlaw Abortion, Says Senator Baldwin

Sen. Tammy Baldwin criticized the Texas judge who suspended the FDA's approval of abortion pill mifepristone, calling it part of a Republican "effort to ban abortion nationwide." Baldwin led the introduction of federal legislation to guarantee access to abortion in response to the Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade. She also condemned other states' restrictions on abortion and vowed to keep fighting to pass the Women's Health Protection Act, which would restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in federal statutes and protect access to abortion nationally. The U.S. Supreme Court temporarily blocked the Texas judge's decision that prevents patients from obtaining mifepristone by mail.
