The Controversial Connections of Justice Clarence Thomas.

Leonard Leo, a conservative judicial activist and friend of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has been under scrutiny for arranging for Thomas's wife to be paid tens of thousands of dollars for consulting work and leaving her name off billing records. Leo has helped bring a right-leaning majority to the Supreme Court and has been involved in campaigns supporting the nominations of all the conservative judges currently on the high court. He has also helped conservative nonprofits raise $250 million from mostly undisclosed donors. Critics have called Leo's relationship with the Thomases a conflict of interest for Clarence Thomas.
