"Tom Suozzi Returns to Congress, Narrowing GOP Majority"
TL;DR
Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi of New York was sworn into Congress, narrowing the GOP’s slim majority to 219 Republicans and 213 Democrats. Suozzi, a moderate Democrat, won a special election to fill the seat of expelled Republican Rep. George Santos, further complicating the GOP's ability to pass measures. The GOP majority is already slim, and with three vacancies in Congress, the balance of power remains delicate.
