Trump thanks TSA officers working without pay as shutdown strains security

President Trump thanked TSA agents who continue to report for duty during the partial government shutdown even as their first paycheck was missed; about 50,000 officers are required to work without pay, with unscheduled absences doubling and more than 300 employees leaving. DHS officials warn the longer the shutdown lasts, the greater the staffing strain and longer airport lines, as incidents at airports highlight mounting tensions.
