Trump's Controversial Anti-Immigrant Remarks Spark Outrage and Criticism
TL;DR
Former President Donald Trump's recent comments in an interview, where he referred to undocumented immigrants as "poisoning the blood of our country," have drawn criticism from civil rights groups. The Anti-Defamation League condemned the remarks as racist and xenophobic, warning that such rhetoric has the potential to incite violence. Trump's use of the phrase "poisoning the blood" echoes language used by White supremacists and nativists, and has been associated with notions of blood purity. Trump's campaign spokesperson defended the comments, claiming it was a normal phrase used in everyday life.
