Trump's Defense Pick Hegseth Faces Abuse Allegations from Mother
TL;DR
Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of Defense, faces scrutiny after a leaked 2018 email from his mother accused him of mistreating women, calling him an "abuser of women." Although she later retracted her statement, the email's release comes as Hegseth prepares for Senate confirmation hearings. Hegseth, a former Fox & Friends host, is also under scrutiny for a past sexual assault allegation, which he claims was consensual. His lawyer stated a settlement was reached to avoid termination from Fox.
