Trump's Influence on GOP Extends to Abortion: NH Poll Suggests

A recent poll in New Hampshire suggests that Donald Trump may be able to reshape the Republican Party's stance on abortion. While opposition to abortion has traditionally been a defining stance for the GOP, Trump's recent comments expressing support for exceptions to abortion bans and his willingness to negotiate a compromise with abortion rights advocates have not seemed to negatively impact his support among likely Republican primary voters. The poll also revealed that climate change is dismissed as unimportant by a majority of GOP voters in New Hampshire, while concerns about the way public schools teach race and sexual identity and ending birthright citizenship for children of immigrants who entered the US illegally were supported by a significant portion of respondents.
