UAW, Largest U.S. Union, Urges Immediate Cease-Fire in Israel-Hamas Conflict

The United Auto Workers (UAW) has become the largest labor union to call for an immediate and permanent cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. UAW Region 9A Director Brandon Mancilla made the announcement during a hunger strike outside the White House, stating that the union aims to build a lasting peace and global community of solidarity. The UAW's International Executive Board will form a working group to study the region's history and the union's economic ties to the conflict. Other labor organizations, including the United Electrical Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE), the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), and the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), have also expressed support for a cease-fire.
