WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich remains detained in Russia without US embassy access.

The Biden administration has no information on how Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich is being treated in a Moscow jail, according to Roger Carstens, Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs. Gershkovich was arrested on espionage charges and ordered to be held in the notorious Lefortovo jail until at least May 29. Carstens said the US is pursuing a "full-court press" to secure Gershkovich's release and is considering negotiating strategies with Russia. The government has more tools at its disposal now that Secretary of State Antony Blinken has declared Gershkovich "wrongfully detained."
