"Trump Lawyer Claims Kavanaugh Will 'Step Up' in Ballot Dispute Amid GOP Backlash"
TL;DR
Alina Habba, a lawyer for former President Donald Trump, expressed confidence that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will "step up" to ensure Trump remains on the ballot in Colorado and Maine despite rulings to remove him for inciting an insurrection. Kavanaugh, appointed by Trump, is part of a 6-3 conservative majority in the Court. Legal experts criticized Habba's comments as an inappropriate expectation of favoritism from a justice. The Supreme Court has not yet decided to take up the case, while Trump's legal team argues that only Congress can resolve such disputes, not the states.
