The largest Hindu temple outside India has been constructed in Robbinsville, New Jersey by the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha sect. The temple, built with over 2 million cubic feet of stone, took over 4.7 million hours of work and was designed by artisans and sculptors on a 126-acre plot of land. However, an ongoing civil lawsuit alleges that the construction team, comprised of low-caste Indian laborers, was undercompensated and overworked. The temple, which is the second-largest in the world, faces controversy despite its grandeur.
