A family in Iowa is planning to move back to Minnesota due to new laws impacting transgender Iowans. One law requires school children to use the bathroom of the gender listed on their birth certificate, while another bans gender transition procedures for anyone under 18 years old, including puberty blockers. Thirteen-year-old Lilly Carriere, who started transitioning from male to female last year, must now use the boy's restroom at school unless she requests special accommodations. The Carriere family is moving back to Minnesota because of these changes.
