Antisemitic incidents surge to highest levels in decades across the US

Antisemitic incidents in the US rose by 36% in 2022, with 3,697 cases of assault, harassment, or vandalism recorded, marking the highest number since 1979, according to the Anti-Defamation League. The incidents spanned all 50 states and Washington, D.C., with New York, California, and New Jersey leading the states for total incidents. The ADL found that visibly Orthodox Jews were targeted in more than half of all assault incidents nationwide. The rise in incidents was largely driven by organized white supremacist activity, with more than double the antisemitic propaganda produced this year, according to the ADL.
