
Carney warns of a severe antisemitism surge in Canada, pledges action
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said antisemitism in Canada has surged to post–World War II levels, noting Jews are about 1% of the population yet account for over two-thirds of religion-motivated hate crimes; he announced $75 million to strengthen security at faith-based institutions and a new Ministerial Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion to study antisemitism and guide prevention and community safety efforts.
