Clashes and Arrests as Dueling Protests Erupt over LGBTQ+ Policies in L.A. Schools

Violence erupted between a parental rights group and LGBTQ+ supporters outside the Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters over transgender notification policies. The parental rights group is calling for schools to notify parents if their child identifies as a gender other than their biological sex, while critics argue it could lead to discrimination or harm for students. Similar measures have been adopted by other Southern California school districts, but have faced opposition from state lawmakers and officials. Three people were arrested during the clash.
