TL;DR

Elon Musk criticized the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet, advocating for the use of armed drones instead. His comments sparked debate, with aviation experts defending the F-35's capabilities and noting its superiority over current drone technology. While drones are increasingly effective in modern warfare, experts argue that they cannot yet replace the advanced technology and firepower of the F-35. The U.S. military is exploring the integration of drones with manned fighters, but the transition to fully unmanned combat systems is still in the future.
