"National DMV Outage Disrupts License Services Across Multiple States"
TL;DR
DMV offices nationwide experienced a network outage, impacting services such as driver's license renewal and permit tests due to a loss in cloud connectivity, which prevented the processing of transactions for driver licenses and vehicle titles. The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) is investigating the root cause of the outage, which lasted from approximately 9:50 a.m. EDT to 12:30 p.m. EDT, but services appeared to have been restored by Thursday afternoon.
