Multiple Drowning Tragedies Strike Across Utah's Lakes and Ponds.

An 18-year-old from Utah County, Alejandro Morales, has died after being found unconscious in Palisade Lake at Palisade State Park. Morales was swimming with friends and did not have a life jacket when weather conditions began to deteriorate. Witnesses called 911 for help when Morales went below the surface and did not reappear. Morales was found in 15 to 20 feet of water and transported to Gunnison Valley Hospital, where he later died. State park officials urge outdoor recreators to prioritize safety by wearing life jackets and helmets, recreating with a buddy, and checking weather conditions and water temperatures.
